Issue #226
This week there was a little-noticed (since it didn't really affect anything) vote in the House of Representatives to repeal a D.C. law that allows noncitizens to vote in local elections. Some conservatives apparently high-fived each other because 56 Democrats voted Yes. But what was more interesting (and alarming) is that 148 (or over 72%) of Democrats voted No. This was a clarifying vote, because it explains what has been happening in L.A. since June 6 (and will start happening in over 1,800 cities on Saturday).
It seems that Americans have a fundamental disagreement about who should be allowed to vote in elections. I'm not an expert on election laws, but I believe that nearly all of them are determined by each state. That seems fine for state and local races and issues that affect only each state. A problem arises, however, with national elections, Congressional apportionment and the Census. Of course all of those matters affect Americans in other states who have no say in the election laws of states other than their own.
Even if illegal aliens weren't allowed to (and didn't) vote in a state, because the Census counts them, states that have more of them are apportioned more Congressmen (and thus more votes in the Electoral College). So apportionment indirectly affects the federal judiciary since the President appoints federal judges.
Years ago Democrat politicians in deep blue states realized they had a problem: millions of (productive) Americans were voting with their feet and moving from those states to more free states like Florida. This was especially problematic because these states had large unfunded liabilities due to very generous public sector pension plans, a large number of public sector employees and insufficient contributions to the plans. Not only that, these states generally had a large debt load and a low credit rating, which made borrowing a lot more money unfeasible. Of course, reducing spending was unthinkable.
Something drastic needed to be done to replace the bodies (and to be clear, any warm body would do) and the lost revenue. Otherwise, the states ran the risk of ending up like every other failed experiment in collectivism since before the time of Marx.
As the chart above shows, the Biden administration quietly orchestrated a soft invasion of America. The first year alone was roughly tied for the largest number of illegal aliens since at least 2001. But they were just getting warmed up, as the NGOs that facilitated this had to get their human trafficking operation set up and spread the word among the Third World.
Supposedly, in a democracy, the voters select their elected officials. But in America, thanks to practices such as gerrymandering and election-related lawsuits, one could argue that it's actually the other way around.
Unvetted immigrants from the Third World are the ideal voter for the Democratic Party because they don't speak English (and likely never will) and are generally illiterate, uneducated, low IQ and low information, with no knowledge or understanding of America's history, culture, norms and values. As a rule, they have little or no experience with concepts such as natural law and individual rights, the rule of law, free markets and the right to self-defense. For many (or most) of them, their motto is “Just give me,” as exemplified by this man (5:30 into this).
Virtually all Democrat politicians would be more than happy to oblige. It's easy to see how, during a secret nighttime flight into the U.S. in an unmarked plane (paid for by the stupid taxpayers), these people could by given a backpack with a prepaid debit card, an Obamaphone, a voucher for a months-long stay in a Manhattan hotel, including three meals a day and health care, a voter registration form, and a helpful voter guide. They will understand who is buttering their bread and will return the favor at the polls.
BTW, I discovered why these illegal aliens were put up in hotels instead of (much less expensive) ICE facilities. According to this video, immigrants in an ICE facility get a court hearing within 35 days, and 90% of those result in a removal order. But if they're released (and say, kept in a hotel), they won't receive a hearing for five to nine years. Mystery solved.
Another aspect of the anti-ICE protests and riots that deserves much more investigation (which should happen soon) is who is organizing and funding them, and why. There are protests scheduled in over 1,800 cities this weekend, and I'm sure many of the protestors will be peaceful and well-meaning, some with valid arguments about an intrusive, heavy-handed state that rounds up workers from a Home Depot.
But there will be opportunists on this bandwagon, with hidden and malevolent agendas. Many of Trump's fiercest political opponents (including L.A. mayor Karen Bass, a longtime supporter of Fidel Castro) will continue to blame the violence on him, which seems pretty “weird” since he's trying to stop it.
We will soon learn more about the vast constellation of NGOs that have sprouted up and flourished in recent years, thanks to billions of dollars from government grants and donations from leftist foundations and billionaires. If you like those crime shows where police investigators try to map out a complex conspiracy by linking conspirators on a large corkboard, grab some popcorn, because databases such as this one are sure to reveal many interesting connections.
The SEIU kicked off this color revolution (which just so happens to be a specialty of the CIA and its affiliated NGOs): “If you look back before the election, they were talking about how to confront a future Trump administration over immigration, so they have been preparing for this for some time. This is the conflict that they wanted....”
The Left can't replay the same BLM card from 2020, as Americans are sick of being told that they're inherently racist because of the color of their skin. So they decided to play the immigrant card, which was a brilliant way to claw back some of Trump's record support among Hispanics.
What's interesting about this unrest is that it directly involves a foreign government (Mexico), which explains the prominence of Mexican flags among the protestors. This article does a deep dive into Mexico's complex politics and what this controversy may really be about. An excerpt: “...over the weekend — before the rioting really got underway in L.A. — Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement criticizing the Trump administration’s modest attempts to enforce U.S. immigration law....The interesting thing about that statement is that...the ICE raids in downtown L.A. weren’t even immigration raids but part of an ongoing investigation into a cartel money-laundering operation. It sure looks like Mexico’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs was preemptively trying to foment resistance to ICE and activate protesters to disrupt an operation aimed directly at cartel operations in the U.S.” Hmm.
Antifa is back for a second Summer of Love, joined by some new groups such as the Party of Socialism and Liberation and Union del Barrio, a Mexican socialist/irredentist group. Towards the end of the protests, Antifa will break the storefront windows, which will be the signal to all of those harsh critics of the free market to move in and plunder the products it produces; this never seems to result in any cognitive dissonance.
The Legacy Media is on the scene, gaslighting Americans about what they're seeing from independent reporters. Orwell predicted this in 1984: “The Party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command.”
The cheerleaders of this movement is a new cadre of young white women on (CCP-controlled) TikTok, many of them paid, none of whom have ever lived under tyranny and who have no idea what they're talking about, especially when it comes to history and political science.
In closing, now would be a good time to check your preps, as tomorrow this will come to a city near you. It's a street fight between Trump and the far Left, and I don't think either will back down, so get ready for a long, hot summer.

It is interesting you mention a large corporation as the site where illegals are being sought. I have decided neither party really wants to solve this problem or they would simply turn up the heat on employers(large and small) with increasing fines for repeat offenders in hiring undocumented workers. I had a small government contract a few years ago and was forced to join eVerify, as were my employees. A system like this could be funded with the fines levied on offenders. With the average cost to deport someone at around $17K, we could quietly get large numbers to self-deport. I fear the Trump administration is, at best, grandstanding and at worst, setting up for a nightmare with increased surveillance , i.e. Palantir national database, etc.

Rob's last paragraph here is likely to prove prophetic. After decades getting their cancer into America's bones, the Left was so close to taking it all; first with a Hilary election, and recently with a Kamala Harris election. All to be spoiled by the ever-inconvenient Trump. And like a spoiled child being told 'No' for the first time, their rage is going on full display. As Rob notes, tomorrow will be a key indicator as to how bad this is going to get.
